Established in Hesston, Kansas in 1973 by Larry E. Fuqua,
our agency has grown from a Life Insurance agency to a full-service,
multi line independent insurance agency. In 1973, Larry Fuqua began to build his business from the ground up. He started by selling life insurance/financial planning exclusively. Larry's success was measured in part by opportunities to expand into the property &casualty lines of business. In 1978 Fuqua Insurance, Inc. began selling property & casualty insurance in addition to Life insurance and financial planning. Fuqua Insurance had become a full service independent insurance agency. By the year 2000, Larry had built an agency that provided property & casualty insurance, health insurance, small business benefit packages, as well as financial planning tools to people across the state of Kansas. In 2000 Larry's son Chad Fuqua joined the agency. Chad got his start in the insurance industry as an insurance adjuster. After 4 years working on the corporate side of the industry, Chad made the switch to become an agency principal. In 2007, Fuqua Insurance merged with the Janzen-Ruth-Typer Agency in Hesston, creating Fuqua-Ruth-Typer Insurance Services.
